Routeworks adds functionality to Microsoft MapPointRouteworks handles lists of locations. Fact: MapPoint has a 10-15% error factor when locating addresses. That is, up to 15% of your locations will not be found or they will be placed incorrectly. That is because the US Census data, on which most mapping is based, provides ranges of addresses and not specific pin point address information. Let's say your locations are all mapped out. You have painstakingly corrected each waypoint. OK! Now what if your routing needs to change because of scheduling, adding or deleting location? You combine the data from several routes in one map planning to create new routes. You must find each erring waypoint each time you combine stops and again when you reassign the routes. MapPoint cannot save your corrected waypoint to transfer to a new map file. You must correct errors each time you put a location on a map.
The Routeworks MS Access integrated kernel moderates between the outside world (your legacy system) and your MapPoint map file. The Routeworks MS Access integrated kernal provides a Route List report and a Route Status report.
The system diagram shows how MS Access and MapPoint integrate with a vending route management software. The system can be modified to suit your needs. |
